Authors Hub UK was developed by ThinkingBigger Ltd. as part of the wider work of BrainyBudz CIC, drawing on years of experience working directly with schools, educators, authors and creatives across the UK.
Through school visits, workshops, talks and creative projects, our team has worked with tens of thousands of students and education professionals across a wide range of settings, including mainstream, SEND and alternative provision. This work has shown us two things very clearly: author visits can be genuinely transformative for pupils, and schools often struggle to discover authors beyond their existing networks.
Authors Hub UK exists to respond to that need.
The platform has been shaped by real classroom experience, inclusive practice, and a strong understanding of how creative engagement supports learning, confidence, oracy and aspiration. Our wider work is informed by principles of metacognition and accelerated learning, recognising that creativity, dialogue and reflection play a vital role in how pupils think, express themselves and build understanding.
Authors Hub UK is designed to be simple, transparent and school-facing. Schools are free to browse the directory, explore author profiles and make contact directly to discuss suitability, safeguarding, availability and practical arrangements.
There is no commission, no intermediary and no obligation, just a clear space to discover authors who are open to working in education settings and to create meaningful, inspiring experiences for learners.
